Top Grade Concrete, LLC

Driveways · Mitchell, SD

For the homeowner done staring at a heaved, flaking slab every morning, and for the new build that deserves better than the cheapest bid. Driveways, sidewalks, and steps, poured on a compacted base with the steel where it belongs.

Two frames from the middle of the job, labeled as exactly that. Fresh concrete reads dark and wet before it grades out, and a driveway is not finished until the cure is.

Base, steel, pour, float. Build the driveway yourself, in order, and notice how much of the job disappears under the finish. That buried work is what you are actually paying for.

Step 1 of 4 · Compact
Choose a tool and drag it over the slab

Run the compactor over the graded dirt until it packs down tight and true.

Every slab in this climate moves through freeze and thaw. What we control is the base under it, the steel in it, and the joints scored into it, so movement follows a straight line we chose instead of a jagged one it picked.

Concrete gains strength on its own schedule, not ours. We will tell you when it is ready to walk on and when it is ready to park on, and holding to that timeline is part of the job. The about page walks the full 28 day clock.

Pour day moves when the forecast says it should. Rain on fresh concrete or a hard freeze behind it does real damage, so we would rather slip a day than hand you a surface we have to apologize for.

Most driveways leave our screeds broom finished, dragged across the direction of travel so tires and boots have something to bite in January. Broomed, power troweled, or exposed aggregate, the finish is your call.

Replacement pour or new build, send the rough size and the season you want it done in. The crew that answers the phone is the crew that pours.
